Time Magazine called President-elect Barack Obama, “The Man of the Year”, I would call 2008, the year of the Blogger. Candidate Obama used the internet to raise $750 million as the war-chest to fight the ‘Clinton Machine’ and then the ‘Republican Machine’. Electronic media carried the water for Obama and refused any opportunity to the challengers. It was like paid advertising for Obama while the principals of NBC and CNN sat silent and watched the democracy suspended for a year. Now America feels cleansed of the stains of slavery and discrimination. Tim Russert, former moderator of ‘Meet the Press’ became a high-profile casualty in a war against democracy. Black commentators could barely contain themselves to their chairs. They remained suspended in the air since the withdrawal of Hillary Clinton as an uncomfortable and their opinion unfair contestant. Bill Clinton, the first ‘Black President’ became a racist and the lefties became the paragon of virtues. The power of the so-called progressives was so profound that the right-wing hacks like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity were mere background noise.
