The farmers of India are predominantly Hindus or Sikhs but the vast majority of Karigars (artisans) are Muslims. Every 5 years the farmers of India get a big bonus from the ‘Central Government’ in Delhi to court their votes. The Muslim Karigars are left high and dry! If at all the ‘Muslims of India’ get any special concession, it comes through the extremely corrupt ‘Muslim Politicians’ or even worst the Imams of various Masjids. These crooked Imams and politicians have a vested interest in keeping the vast majority of Muslims uneducated and poor. For the past 60 years these exploited citizens of India have been used as vote banks to elect leaders like Mulayam Singh Yadav and Laloo Prasad Yadav. One is from the populous state of Uttar Pradesh and the other from the wretched state of Bihar. Both are certified crooks and have done nothing to improve the conditions of these Muslims in their states. This must be stopped immediately. We are playing with the precious lives of 150 million people!
These Muslim Karigars are highly skilled and work very hard to eke out a living. Their spouses and children help them from a very early age and so learn the skills first hand. Over the years their skills are being replaced by technology and mechanization. These rare skills need modification and some form of up-gradation. These people are not looking for handouts, they need access to capital to upgrade and at times sustain their small businesses. India would serve its interests well by making a bold and sustained investment in these ‘Muslim Karigars’. We are a $1 trillion economy; we can afford to invest 0.5% of our GDP in this highly promising venture. The central government of India must allocate $5 billion (Rs 25,000 crores) per year for this purpose. The funds must be under the jurisdiction of an ‘Eminent Persons Group’ headed by Dr Manmohan Singh and assisted by people like A P J Abdul Kalam, Lal Krishna Advani, Somnath Chatterjee and Amartya Sen. Muslim Politicians and Imams must be avoided. The money could be channelized through ‘Grameen Bank’.
